About Us
The Coin River Club was started to promote and share information about the blockchain and digital (crypto) currencies. Digital currencies are rapidly transforming the world of finance, via decentralized finance apps, and the world of ownership, via non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Furthermore, digital currencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, and others are excellent stores of value becuase they have tremendous potential to appreciate in value.
We believe that there are fascinating opportunities in the crypto space. We also realize that because digital currencies are so new many people will miss out on the potential opportunities in the crypto space. As a result, our three key goals are as follows:
- Make crypto topics interesting and fun. We believe that gamification can help make some crypto related topics clear.
- Promote and encourage best practices when investing in crypto. For example, NEVER share your wallet private keys or seed phrases. If someone is sending you crypto coins they should ONLY need your wallet address.
- Provide valuable information that can help you make money with crypto. It's all about what you know and who you know. In our meetings, we feature a wide range of successful entrepreneurs.

Fundamentals Training
Week 1 - Getting Started
Learn about the blockchain, Bitcoin, and various digital (crypto) currencies. Learn how to setup a crypto account and how to safely send or receive crypto.
Week 2 - Staking Rewards
Some crypto currencies offer staking rewards, which are similar to interest or dividends. We give each member $20 to $50 worth of coins that yield staking rewards.
Week 3 - Decentralized Finance
Decentralized finance (DeFi) allows you to earn interest, borrow/lend money, buy insurance, trade assets, and more. Members learn about DeFi opportunities.
Week 4 - Let's Make an NFT (Non-Fungible Token)
Members can provide a digital file (i.e. image, audio, video) that will be added to a collection. The collection will be offered as an NFT on one of the NFT marketplaces.
Week 5 - Coin Books (Game)
Play a fun crypto currency related game. The game will help reinforce some of the key concepts covered during our weekly meetings and discussions.
Week 6 - Crypto Analysis and Metrics
There are many ways to track your portfolio performance. Learn about reading charts as well as a brief overview of candlestick analysis.
Week 7 - Taxes
Crypto related profits or losses should be included in your tax returns. We have a tax expert on our team to explain how to report your crypto currency earnings.
Week 8 - The Mining Game
Many digital currencies, such as Bitcoin, enter circulation via a process called mining. We play games that help members better understand and appreciate the mining process.
